Upon graduation from the University of Kentucky in 1993 with a BS in accounting, Tom joined Hilliard Lyons, now Baird, as a Financial Consultant in the firm’s Lexington location. Tom became the third generation of his family to join Hilliard Lyons and was fortunate to work side by side with his grandfather from 1993 to 2008 when Tom Sr. retired. Throughout Tom’s career he has had the opportunity to invest in his education earning his Chartered Wealth Advisor ® designation in 2004 and graduating from the Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton Business School in 2006. In 2017, Tom was named President of Hilliard Lyons until the firm merged with Baird in the fall of 2019. Tom now enjoys working with families, 501-c-3 organizations, and closely held businesses to provide solutions to complex financial situations.
Tom’s community involvement has included serving on numerous boards, including those of Worldwide Hearts & Hands, Lexington Philharmonic, The UK Gatton School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council, and Child Development Center of the Bluegrass, where he served as board chair. Tom was also the Campaign Chairman of LexArts and Dynamic Doors.
Tom and his wife Amy have three children.
